Why Motor Trend trusts the lowly intern with a race car, I will never know.
This car is a athlete. The new electric power steering is more communicative than I expected. It blueprints Mazda Raceway’s undulations and contractility with classic Miata-like accuracy, making the car feel smaller than it is. This, along with its extension of 200 pounds lighter than the car I’m used to, makes everything just a bit more effortless. And the Corkscrew is usually a great place to test these things, but it only works when you can actually see the track (#thanksRandy).
by chance, its stopping power is impressive; the four-piston Brembos up front and two-piston rears prefer being blamed but aren’t averse to harder and more deliberate applications.a $53,000 package, it’s hard to find a more accessible race car. Who knows how much longer they can keep that price down, though. Yeah, I know it can’t be considered for this year’s Best Driver’s Car. But at the end of the day, this isn’t a driver’s car. It’s proper race car. And compared to many contenders, it’s cheap enough to have it and something comfier for getting to and from the track. Hey, my heart’s beating faster again.I will saw again.....
